I know it is not the first day of "school" but it sure felt like it. We had to pack a backpack and lunch. I didn't sleep at all last night and woke up early today to get ready for Hunter's big first day of summer camp!
Chris called this morning to see how Hunter was doing...are you kidding?!? It didn't help when Chris started laughing and said "baby, are you serious?" when I got quiet on the phone (which means I was CRYING!) SO SILLY, I know!
Hunter was great this morning. I was ridiculous.
Note to self: Hunter's "firsts" + me pregnant=emotional wreck.
I pulled up nervous and walked into Creative Tots, Hunter holding my hand and filing in behind a couple other moms and kids. As we were clumped at the classroom door, Hunter yells "pwease" and pushes through people to run to the train station. All three teachers started dying laughing. Just over 5 months pregnant doesn't leave me feeling the need to "squeeze" past anyone right now after him. I watched as Hunter made his rounds around the room. He then started "talking" to me (for most kids is flat out YELLING) from the sand station with eyebrows raised and on tiptoes. He was very eager for me to come see his discovery. Needless to say, he was VERY excited to be there.
I dropped off his stuff and left smiling. It still felt weird though...
When I came to pick Hunter up from camp, he squealed like a girl, which earned another huge laugh from his teachers. Then, it occurred to him that I had not been there and he fell apart crying. :)
Hunter painted lobsters with his hands. Then he glued eye balls on the lobster, which the teacher said he couldn't get past his excitement of the moving eyeballs. So typical.
My first picture from school is precious...it's on the fridge.
Oh to see what creations and discoveries will be made this summer. What a joy.
