9 Month Appointment

Hunter is 9 months old this week! We cannot believe how fast he grows and how much he continues to change everyday.

Today we went to the Pediatrician for his 9 month checkup. Hunter was 291/2 inches long (80% for height) and weighed right at 20 pounds(50% for weight)! We are thankful for a healthy baby.

Celebrating!

Today (Friday, July 17th) was Hunter's first REAL day to crawl! He has been going a little bit, but today he crawled to Drake across his blue rug!!!

My Parents Come Visit

Mimi & Grande went to visit Phil & Steph in Charlotte first and then came to see us--well, Hunter! :)

One night we went to a Japanese Steakhouse. My mom put her hand towel on Hunter's head. You would think most babies would try and take it off or figure out what was on their head...nope! Didn't bother Hunter! He just carried on like nothing was wrong.

Chris was happy to come see us for a quick dinner. He had to stay at the hospital that night.

We went to the OSU Football Stadium--it was HUGE.

One afternoon, we sat at our patio table from 3:30-7. My parents really enjoyed the weather, so we sat outside, listened to music, fed Hunter dinner and waited for Chris to get home...oh, our patio is basically IN our driveway. :)

Hunter ate, played, clapped...my mom was covering her face like Michael Jackson and Blanket...ridiculous.

Playing in the Yard

Playing with the idea of crawling, but would still rather be held by dad!

July 4th

Ohio has a huge celebration on July 3rd called "Red, White & Boom" and the firework display is a few miles south of us. We went back and forth on whether or not to go because we would have to wake Hunter up--at 9:45pm Chris jumped off the couch and said "wake Hunter up and I will get the blanket"--so we walked to Goodale Park and watched the fireworks...Hunter was in his pajamas and very confused.

Saturday, July 4th, we walked to the "Doo-Dah Parade." It was probably THE funniest thing I have ever seen...ANYONE can be in it, which welcomed quite a variety of people and entertainment... The parade came down our street, so Neil Avenue was lined with most everyone that lives in Columbus I believe!
Hunter wore his red & white striped USA outfit to celebrate our freedom. :) He looked hilarious in the hat!

That evening, Chris, Hunter & Drake grilled burgers. I made my mom's salsa (Chris actually requested it!). We were jamming to Backstreet Boys...great ending to July 4th!

After our cookout, Hunter took a long bath (his new bathtub is the sink since we only have a shower!) and then he went to bed early. Chris and I watched a movie and listened to more fireworks from our couch. :)

At the Park

This is my life right now...walking EVERYWHERE. To the grocery store, to CVS, to the park, to the hospital to meet Chris for lunch. We live with in walking distance of anything, which is really fun. The park down the street is huge and has a pond that people fish in--Drake keeps his eye on the ducks. I know one day I am going to turn around and he is going to be in the pond!
We are church searching and have a few to visit. Until I make friends :) it seems Hunter, Drake and I will have a LOT of quality time together. Chris is already working long, long hours. Guess I am getting a taste of the joys of residency...
there are so many things I can "fill" my time with that are good, but I know the BEST thing, the most satisfying thing, is choosing to spend more time in the Word.
There is so much I believe God has for me to learn from moving far from friends and family. I do feel very vulnerable and lonesome at times, but I never feel alone--yet another blessing of knowing the Lord.

Grandpa & Grammy Visit (July 2009)

So, I thought it would be a good idea to leave Drake with my brother-in-law for the year...within a week, I realized that was NOT a good idea. I felt like I was mourning the loss of a family member--I was!
Daddy Jim & Kathy came to visit last weekend and brought me Drake. I am SO glad to have him home!
We had a wonderful weekend with Grandpa & Grammy. We went to eat (alot) and we went to the Butterfly Conservation....

I am wasn't going to give blame, but Kathy gets full credit for wanting to go to the butterfly conservation...Hunter had a good time looking at a butterfly. :)
