Mimi & Grande Visit

Mimi & Grande came up July 4th weekend. We went and saw a parade and Hunter LOVED it. He especially loved the firetrucks and lights! He didn't quite understand all the candy being thrown on the streets or why people were waving at him, but once he got a sucker he didn't really care about any of it.

Hunter said his first "official" sentence this weekend. He looked at Mimi and said "I pick up cars!" He was playing with his toys and was very proud of himself and expressive (0f course) about his handling his cars. It was very cute.

Hunter says "Mimi" perfectly and just this trip has really started saying "Grane" (the 'D' is silent). :) He follows my parents around my house saying their names over and over again (probably because they answer over and over again:).

THE BOYS

July 4th

We went to watch the Madeira Firework show at the swimming pool. We had chicken, green beans & mashed potatoes for dinner and hung out by the pool at sunset. We sat in a patch of grass and had front row seats for the fireworks.

Hunter is NOT a fan of the BOOM...but he does love the colors of fireworks! He covered his eyes when the booming started and was not enjoying the fireworks at all. We decided about half way through to get in the car and watch them because it was pretty cool outside and it was really loud. From the car, Hunter LOVED watching the pretty colors and lights of fireworks.

Hiding from the loud fireworks.

Watching many RED, WHITE, & BLUE balloons fly off into the air!

Father's Day 2010

Father's Day was great. We went to church, lunch and then the Bass Pro Shop. :) I followed the boys around the store while they oohed and awed over every fish, elk and bear in sight. What a FUN outing for the big Dad's Day!

We then grilled out dinner and played in the backyard to honor Chris.

Chris was so touched because when they were playing basketball Hunter just put the ball down at one point and walked straight to Chris with arms stretched out for him. Chris said he just wrapped his little arms around his neck and gave him a big hug...then went back to get the ball. He wanted to hug Daddy.

I told Chris before we went to bed that it brings me so much joy to watch Hunter follow him, play with him and simply adore him. I LOVE to see how much Hunter LOVES Chris. Chris is a great Dad and I am so thankful he sees what an important role he has in Hunter's life...

Rainy Day at the Lake

Thankfully we had the basement floor to ourselves because Hunter ran wild when it rained at the lake. I read a book & Hunter entertained himself...

Wisconsin

Chris, Hunter & I took a family vacation to Chris' Aunt and Uncles lake house in Wisconsin. The drive was about 9 hours. Hunter was great in the car and Chris drove the entire way there and back! Uncle Tony & Aunt Katie have a beautiful place on Lake Gilbert. Unfortunately it rained EVERYDAY we were there. Then, on the day we drove home it was sunny and 80 degrees. :)
We still had a great time. Hunter learned to say "Ka-tee" and "Maw-yee" (Chris' cousin who Hunter followed around the entire time we were there).

Johnson's Summer Visit

Jim, Kathy, Elaine & Ashley came for 3 nights to visit. Hunter always enjoys his grandparents and his aunts. He sure is spoiled with LOVE...

Playing in the neighbors yard...again. :)

We went to Parky's Barn and saw farm animals. Hunter chased the chickens and liked the animals, but I am not sure he exactly enjoyed watching a guy milk a goat...

Just Hanging at home.
Naming the face features with "Kaki"

Love Bubbles!

Playing ball with Aunt Ashley and showing her around my yard (over and over again).

Mowing the lawn.

Did we buy the baby pool for Hunter...or Drake???

We went to a Winton Wood Park and played at the Noah's Ark fountains. I didn't bring a swimsuit, towel, or change of clothes so Hunter just played in a diaper! :) He loved sticking his little fingers in the holes and then would get mad when the water would shoot up in his face, but he kept doing it!

Jim, Kathy, Elaine, Ashley & Hunter went to the zoo...glad I was not on this trip because Hunter TOUCHED a snake and an armadillo. Sick! Hunter had a great time though...
