Two new balloons...someone popped his on the fence but his mom rebounded with a great answer "now we can fold it up to take home to show Daddy!" Oh my gosh. :)

Growing Up

Chris and I have recently been amazed at the enormous strides Hunter keeps making both physically and socially. Hunter keeps learning and growing so quickly. This past week he said "microphone" and "window" (used correctly about a microphone and a window) and we just laughed because we don't know how he learned those words...we don't think we taught those to him? :)

I read something this morning that so resonates how I feel about it:

"You are no longer a baby. You are a toddler. I accept your growth. I will go forward with you. I promise always to treat you with the respect your age deserves. But as your mother, I reserve the right to silently cradle your infancy in the deepest part of my heart, because, no matter how big you grow, you will always be my precious baby boy." Lorraine Pintus

"And the child grew and became strong; he was filled with wisdom, and the grace of God was upon him."
Luke 2:40

Cincinnatti Reds

We went with some friends to our first Cincinnati Reds baseball game. Their seats are in the "club seating" which allows us to sit indoor or outdoor and provides free food and drinks...Chris was in heaven with the free food. He actually ate pizza, a cinnamon stick, nachos, a brisket sandwich, a hot dog, popcorn & ice cream sandwich--I am not kidding. He kept putting it in front of me like I was miss porky prego and all I had was pizza! :) Hunter actually shared almost all the food with Chris though...I had happy boys at the game!

In the 6th inning, Hunter looked at me and said "go bye bye fi-kur-tuk" which means I want to go to bed (in his new firetruck bedding, which he is SUPER proud of!). We laughed and went home. Big night for a little boy and big mamma!

I was hoping the stairs and walking would send me into labor...a few more weeks till the actual due date though...we will see.

The Last Week at the Pool

I am sad that this is the last week the swimming pool is open because Hunter loves everything about it--the water, the music, the toys, the other kids...he plays hard and then loves to sit in my lap (what little lap left I have!) and drink juice or eat.
Obviously, I am not fully aware of the mess otherwise I would have pushed him off of me! :) I am NOT a fan of stickiness or messiness...and obviously Hunter is NOT bothered by it a bit!

"School" Carnival

Mother's Day Out starts in a couple weeks. The carnival was tonight and Hunter was pretty excited the whole time!

THE Big Boy Bed

Hunter slept for the first time in his Big Boy Bed during his nap today! He is obsessed with his firetruck bedding. He actually said "nigh-nigh 'fi-kur-tuk'".

Hunter & Dad celebrate!

BUT...

To act like it was a smooth transition would be a lie. These are pictures from last night which was a failed attempt. I fully believe in sticking to my guns, but after an hour of crying and screaming, I decided that 9 months is too pregnant for such a fight...bed time for everyone...you win, back in your crib. He was sound asleep in 5 minutes.

Hey, at least the pictures in the beginning look pleasant and peaceful reading books and saying prayers...
hope tonight is more successful after today's nap.

Hunter's Friends Come Over to Play

My buddy Lillian

Hunter went to play with his friend, Lillian, while Chris and I went to a maternity tour of the hospital where I will deliver this sweet baby.
Hunter apparently kept Lillian entertained dancing, singing and playing dress up in her hair bands. :)

Buddies Playing

Hunter and his buddy, Eli, take turns roaring at eachother...
(My precious friend, Rebecca, only NOW sent me the video clip from our time in Dallas! :)

Baby Johnson #2

FIRST PICTURES of our second son with his feet in his face and his big toe in his mouth!

Mama's Boy

Hunter sure is mama's boy! I know it won't be this way forever but I do love being queen of his heart! His random hugs and kisses absolutely melt me. His grins and playful expressions toward me make me laugh often. I have SO many "precious moments" throughout every day...so many captured only in my heart. He's my buddy and I am so thankful for my sweet Hunter.

Back Home with Daddy!

After being gone for over 2 weeks, it was great to come home to Cincinnati to see Chris and Drake! Hunter was REALLY, REALLY happy to see him! We had an afternoon and a whole Saturday to just hangout with him.

Haynes & Hunter

Precious Haynes Brookheart came to visit Hunter when we were in Dallas. I grew up with his mom, Taylor Haynes. We have many childhood memories and pictures together so it is really cool to see our kids together now!

Mimi Watering the Plants?...or Hunter?

Somehow, every time my mom would water her plants, Hunter would end up naked running around the front yard while she pelted him with the hose...and he LOVED it!
