Hunter's 2nd Birthday

Chris and I were going to have a little birthday party for Hunter with just us at home, but our sweet friends, Chris and Meredith, asked if they could make an Elmo cake and bring decorations over to celebrate Hunter's 2nd birthday. We ended up inviting the neighbors over (15 kids came!) and Hunter loved it.
The kids made birthday cards that were so sweet. The cards said things like "we think you're funny" "we like your facial expressions" "we like your smile" "we love you." We are super blessed by the families on our street who love Hunter so much. We are also thankful for Chris and Meredith who destroyed our house with Elmo junk.

Charlie's Room

Hunter gets frustrated because he can't see Charlie when he is on the changing table. The other day when I was dressing Charlie, Hunter came walking in with his red stool and set it down next to me so he could get up and see Charlie. I made the mistake of laughing and praising him for being so smart. Now he always wants to bring it into the nursery to see baby Charlie.

My Boys

My friend, Sarah Fry, came to our house and took pictures of Charlie and Hunter. She was kind enough to snap one of Drake, since he is still part of the family!

Oh Hunter...

A picture is worth a 1000 words...only wish I had one to show what happened this morning...
Charlie was lounging on my bed, propped up watching me put on makeup. Hunter was playing with his red race car until he saw me pull out his favorite "MOTION" (lotion). Thanks to my mom, Hunter loves lotion. In our daily routine, Hunter received his one small dot in each palm to rub on his face (or my leg, whichever seems more appealing at the time).
Being the sweet big brother that Hunter is, he decided that today Charlie needed lotion. Of course, I wasn't paying close enough attention and the next thing I know Charlie is screaming with a blob of lotion mushed across his ear and cheek.
Hunter started crying because he thought he hurt Charlie. So, I have one eye with makeup on and two boys crying.
The humor in it all really didn't hit me until 2 hours later when Hunter was at school and I was quietly feeding Charlie appreciating his Cherry Almond Jergen's scent. Sweet Hunter. Poor Charlie.

Charlie's First Visitors...

Waiting for Charlie

My parents and Chris' parents came to Cincinnati the Thursday before Charlie was due (Sunday) because the doctor was sure I would have him sooner than the induction date (Sunday, September 26, 2010)...and the doctor was wrong.
Therefore, it was a LONG weekend of spoiling Hunter rotten with all 4 grandparents in town (he thought just to see him!).
